D.O.C.P. and Benchmarks

In this new series we will show how to do BIOS tweaks to accomplish some basic overclocking. We will also do some benchmarking to measure how the system improvements from said tweaks. In this first video we demonstrate how to set-up D.O.C.P. to overclock your memory. In addition, we introduced several benchmarks that we will be using. They are as follows:

Civilization VI - Gathering Storm A.I.

3D Mark - Time Spy

Blender - BMW

Blender - Fishy_Cat

Puget Systems Premiere Pro Benchmark

The methodology is pretty straightforward. We will do three runs of each benchmark and average them. These results will then be compared to earlier (or later) tweaks to make a performance comparison. For this first experiment, here is the raw data that was used:

DOCP Data.jpg

For 3D Mark, the chart used the data from the CPU score. As mentioned in the video, it was surprising to see the Blender results worsen with DOCP enabled. The scores represent the time (in seconds) to run each of the benchmarks. They were remarkably consistent within their respective runs so I am at a loss as to why the performance worsened. I hope to learn more in the coming weeks. In any even, we will keep adding the data from additional runs as we continue to make more tweaks to the BIOS.

Here is the chart:

We will add additional data to the chart as we perform additional tweaks. Stay tuned!
